REID ALLRED

Reid Allred is a 2006 graduate of Harvard Law School, where he served as Senior Editor on the Harvard Law Review. Reid began his career at a large multinational firm, where he gained world-class litigation experience representing some of the largest and most successful companies in the world.

Although he enjoyed his work, Reid felt he needed a closer connection with the individuals whose lives were affected by his work. Reid made a conscious decision to shift his practice to representing closely held businesses and their owners. This focus has not only made his work more enjoyable, but was the impetus behind Cambridge Law Colorado.

Reid has extensive experience with disputes among owners of closely held businesses as well as litigation regarding construction and real-estate matters. In addition to his civil trial experience, Reid tried more than twenty criminal cases (including a dozen jury trials) while seconded to the Denver City Attorney Office’s Prosecution and Code Enforcement Section. He is admitted to practice in Colorado and has experience with all aspects of litigation in both federal and state courts around the country.

Reid also has a substantial transactional practice. He drafts and reviews contracts, including organizational agreements (e.g., operating agreements, partnership agreements, buy-sell agreements), for a variety of entities (including LLCs, partnerships, and corporations). He also provides general business advice and serves as outside “general counsel” for numerous clients.

Reid has an active estate-planning practice and is often called upon to coordinate a client’s business structure with his or her personal estate plan. Reid has presented to groups of business owners regarding limited liability and asset protection. His undergraduate degree in Economics from Brigham Young University, along with his litigation experience, gives Reid a unique perspective when advising business owners and entrepreneurs.

Reid is originally from Star Valley, Wyoming. After spending three years in Boston, far from family, he and his wife, Emily, decided to move back West. They landed in Denver in 2006 and have been here ever since. Reid and Emily have four children and a hobby farm. Reid enjoys cycling, running, golfing, bee keeping, and spending time with his family.
